By using Océ Technologies newly developed printing technique, little coloured pearls are melted into a gel which then can be applied to any type of paper.
The first product based on this technique is the ColorWave 600. For this printer GBO handled the design and engineering of its intelligent cartridges. By using a key-system that is embedded in the injection moulded parts it is impossible to place the cartridges in a wrong slot. The cartridge is partly designed in transparent plastic so the user can monitor the remaining contents.
GBO also provided a packaging concept for the cartridges. Exceptional in this packaging is that after removing its contents it can be utilized as a drip tray when cleaning the print heads.
