02.03.10 DEK Horizon IX for Vitalo introduced

Market leader DEK has set the new screenprint standard for mounting Printed Circuit Boards with their new Horizon IX machine. For our client Vitalo we provided the creative process of this new machine. Market positioning, styling, concept 3D CAD setup and coordination of the prototyping were guided by us.

The entire project is completed in close cooperation with Vitalo (producer of the housing) and DEK (final client). The first reactions from the market are very promising. Up.

12.02.10 GBO presents during the Material Café “Sustainability”

GBO presents during the Material Café "Sustainability" This year’s Material Café will take place on the 22nd of February in the Witte Dame in Eindhoven. The by Material Matters organized event will host numerous presentations on the topic ‘Sustainability’. One presentation will be given by Jeroen op ten Berg from GBO. He will explain how sustainability plays a role in its different phases and how the use of Solidworks Sustainable contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of products.

25.01.10 Dremel Hobbytable big success!

The Dremel Hobbytable which was introduced in September 2009 by Dremel has proven to be a veritable blockbuster. The introduction for the holidays has led to the series being almost sold out. GBO Design-Engineering has designed this special edition, which was delivered turnkey by GBO Projects, including tooling, manufacturing and logistics. Up.

GBO one of the first SolidWorks Sustainability users worldwide! As of January GBO designs more sustainable. Translating the environment and sustainability into practice isn’t an easy task. But with the newest product in the SolidWorks range, “green design” becomes a part of the Creative Phase. The software by Cadmes, supplier of SolidWorks, can already take the environmental impact into account during the development of a product. Cadmes is an active promotor of this new technology.

07.01.10 GBO en Liquavista reveal Pebble at CES 2010

By request of Eindhoven based company Liquavista, GBO has designed an eReader concept. The eReader, named ‘Pebble’, features Liquavista’s newest colordisplay based on electrowetting. This groundbreaking technology is very energy efficient and offers more possibilities than the current generation eReader displays, such as video playback.

The Pebble will be introduced at the leading CES consumer electronics fair in Las Vegas. CES 2010 will be held from 7th to 10th of January.

05.01.10 Positive test Kroonring in Ridderkerk

Two weeks ago the first Kroonring was successfully introduced in the community of Ridderkerk. Ridderkerk is the first town in the Netherlands to apply this effective collecting point for bags of separated plastic waste. The Kroonring supports the new way of separating waste and is part of the national Plastic heroes campaign. First reactions of the community and its members are very positive. read more… Up.

17.12.09 A merry Christmas, happy holidays and a great 2010!

Because cosiness and sustainability are important to GBO, this year’s Christmas tree is an adopted one! The tree has been temporarily moved from the Belgian Ardennes to our office to provide us with that nice warm Christmas atmosphere. After the holidays it will be (re)planted in the area of Francorchamps so it can grow in all glory till Christmas 2010 (and beyond!).

04.12.09 GBO at DESIGN at WORK 09

GBO will present its work in Kortrijk on the 8., 9. and 10. of December at DESIGN at WORK 09. DESIGN at WORK 09 is an international trade show for product development, design, innovative materials, products and services. Companies with a focus on innovation and product development or those which would like to launch an innovative product, are welcome to this exhibition platform.

For the first time we present ourselves in a collaboration with competitors in the light of the founding of the Belgian vVio, the Flamish Association of Belgian Design Bureaus.

25.11.09 New product by GBO on Medica ‘09

At the Medica exhibition in Düsseldorf, our client GymnaUniphy has successfully introduced the by GBO designed new generation ShockMaster 500.

Shock Master 500 is the new standard in Shockwave technology for physical therapy and is unique in terms of intuitive handling, usability, functionality and innovation. The Shockwave, originally developed for crushing kidney stones, is now effectively used for rehabilitation, orthopedics and rheumatology.

GBO has worked closely with GymnaUniphy for the development of this newcomer and is particularly proud of their new success! Up.

04.11.09 GBO supports participant The Best Idea Of The Netherlands

GBO has helped in the realization of the model for a participant of the TV-show The Best Idea Of The Netherlands (Dutch only). The so-called Tulpi of Marco Manders will be aired next Saturday at 21:30 in the semi-finals on SBS 6.

Tulpi is a folding chair intended for public gardens. It resembles a tulip when it’s folded shut. The seat is designed to stay clean and dry when the chair is closed.

Besides GBO Studio ID and H&S Paint supported the realization of this hi-end prototype.
