GBO is selected in July for Groeiversneller (Growth Accelerator), an initiative of the Ministry of Economy and the Innovation Platform. The Growth Accelerator program allows businesses to grow faster to increase employment and promote internationalization.
The program starts in September. Up.
Brabant Brand is an initiative of the province of Noord-Brabant. The label was founded to promote the entire province of Noord-Brabant (Dutch only), a region with particular characteristics. In particular, the unique combination of ‘high-touch’ - such as hospitality and friendly - with ‘high-tech’ makes the Brabantians also so successful.
Recently, GBO got selected to be part of Brabant Brand. The ultimate goal is to shape a concept with Brabant Brand that creates a clear and recognizable added value in expressions of individual organizations. Up.
The black Trayformer of Atlanta Office Products, which was previously awarded with the Product of the Year Award, is awarded with the Blue Angel certificate. The certificate indicates a company’s commitment to a better environment. Besides the Trayformer, two other products of Atlanta were awarded with the Blue Angel logo, the oldest and best-known eco-label in the world to be awarded to companies that consistently demonstrate their commitment to a better environment. The label, launched in 1978, has become the benchmark for environmentally responsible products and services.

Objective research shows that good design is an important economic and commercial value. The study was commissioned by the BNO and conducted by the Erasmus University Rotterdam and TU Delft amongst 400 managers of Dutch companies. One of the conclusions of the report is that the financial performance of a company increases with an average of 20 percent!

Eric Dumortier of GBO gives a Pecha Kucha lecture in Antwerp on June 29, Industrial Design World Day. The lecture is part of a program that starts at 16:00 at the Antwerp University Artesis. The program is hosted by Flanders InShape together with two Flemish design colleges and the Association of Flemish designers.

At the 31st of May, another Design Café will be initiated by Brainport. This time the location of the Design Café is the innovative Satelliet in Breda. The meeting is held within the scope of SME Design.Brabant, a Brabantian innovationclass about design, SME’s and leisure.
Jeroen op ten Berg of GBO will give a reading on the process of the shock absorbing stirrup of GPG Stirrups, which recently reached the 13th place in the SME Innovation Top 100! Up.
By the 25th of May, two designs of GBO were featured in the Innovation Top 100 of the Dutch Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (Dutch only). The Innovation Top 100 is the national ranking of the most innovative companies in the SME.
The design of the new shock absorber for GPG Stirrups reached the 13th place. The relationship between GBO and GPG was created during a Design Pressure Cooker (DPC) of Syntens.
GBO Projects is located at the 25th place with the so-called Crownring. The patented ring was developed by GBO. Through its establishment in Hong Kong GBO projects has managed tooling, production and logistics.
This makes GBO the highest ranked company in the region of Southeast Brabant.

Rob Crins of GBO Projects was a guest at Brabant Business TV on the Brabant10 channel. Brabant Business is weekly talkshow of half an hour, where presentors René Weijmans and Anne-Marie Fokkens receive guests from Brabantian businesses.

By invitation of the Brainport Foundation, Jeroen op ten Berg of GBO Helmond and Eric Dumortier of GBO Antwerp will attend a multiple-day networkmeeting in Shanghai. The Brainport Networking Dinner Event is, besides other meetings, performance arts and exhibitions programmed in the Dutch Culture Centre (DCC). DCC is, in addition to the Dutch pavillion Happy Street, a part of the World Expo 2010 in Sjanghai.
Also, during one of the meetings on the 17th of May, an exhibition of the Van Abbe Museum will be opened for public by H.R.H. princess Máxima. On the 20th, Eric Dumortier will give a lecture at the Expo area on GBO and the creative industry. The complete programme runs from the 16th untill the 21st of May. Up.
Commissioned by Atlanta, GBO has developed the Tray Former. The new product has received the innovation award at the 14th of April in the Business Design Centre during the Office Product Show in London. The product is sold on both the consumer and professional office market.
During the development of this letter tray sustainability was key. The tray is supplied as a plane and four parts to build. This efficient design ensures that far less air is transferred during transportation. By taking full advantage of plastic are the designers have also succeeded in integrating 4 paper clips. Moreover, the plastic is 100% recyclable. Up.
