"Produceable, Appealing and Functional"

Our vision and ideas about product development are captured in the way we plan and perform our activities. We will always strive to develop products that are optimally produceable, appealing and functional. By continuously checking projects for these three quality levels, successful products come into being. We call this PAF.

Produceable, by integrating design and engineering we develop tangible concepts.

Appealing, because styling and design have significant impact on sales.

Functional, products with added functionality for the user.

Process

To be competitive, we must excel in what we do, and even more important, do it fast. That's why our development process is an integrated completeness, where activities combine in an effective and efficient manner.

Our design process is divided into 4 essential steps:

Phase 0 Information

"Insight by imagination"
We constantly focus on different markets, trends and materials. This will not only keep us sharp but creates more insight during the projects. During this phase the project is finalised with the client and the project's goals are determined. We collect the necessary information and create an insight into target groups and trends. The requirements are gathered and based on the given information the process of concept development is started.

Phase 1 Creation

"Identity, shape and working"
Based on obtained information a variety of first sketches will be made and presented. Depending on the complexity of the project, one or more concept and discussion rounds with the client are used to achieve the end result. Various techniques are applied to communicate a clear picture of the concept. This phase will be completed with a final proposal, "freezing" the styling and identity of the product.

Phase 2 Realization

"From concept to product"
After defining the appearance and identity of the product, it is further developed into producible parts. The realization phase starts with a technical plan which creates more insight into assembly, fastening techniques and the complexity of all parts regarding the production and cost price. A number of these aspects depends on the final producer, so he needs to be defined when phase 2 is started. Mechanisms are worked out and tested with models. Design details and materials are chosen and all parts are constructed in 3D CAD. By applying strain- and stress calculations all components can be optimized. Finally in consultation with our client we release the product for production.

Phase 3 Implementation

"The finishing touch"
In order to be able to guarantee a certain quality level, it is important to be involved in the implementation phase of the final product. The evaluation of pilot series, the consulting of suppliers and reviewing test reports are only a few aspects that are under discussion in this phase. It creates new insights and information to guide the process if needed and to create successful products in the end.
